A ship setting sail. A place that is closed yet wide open. Of an almost brutal beauty, like the island that welcomed us. It is the SS ottod'Ame.
When the idea began to take shape, we realized that it was truly a challenge. One of those challenges that keeps you awake at night and pushes you to constantly exceed your limits. Exactly the kind of challenge we love! We could already imagine ourselves there, within walls where time has left its mark and cicadas chirp. The truth? It was much more beautiful than we expected.
This way, please.
We started as we always start a job: with a busy schedule and a to-do list that at first glance always seems impossible to complete. Being able to condense, schedule, and plan everything down to the smallest detail is one of our strengths. Strategy, which is our bread and butter, comes into play powerfully even when we are in the field and minutes are more precious than ever. The entire team we work with understands our approach and knows how crucial concentration is. The result is before your eyes.
Before her eyes, profound landscapes.
Island and isolated. In a solitude that is not bewilderment but discovery, of time to be savored at your own pace and space to be made room for in your eyes and heart. Between fine sand and dusty walls, you are free to reclaim an almost primitive dimension. The ancestral wonder of nature and the deafening silence are not intimidating. Everything seems like an ode to beauty. The wild and primitive beauty of the place and the delicate and respectful beauty of Nosya, the protagonist of this SS ottod’Ame.
The sweet unease takes your breath away.
From the cracks in the walls, the desire for freedom seeps out and a story slowly emerges. It is a departure, or perhaps a return. It is the song of crickets and cicadas. It is the bewilderment that overwhelms you when you feel you truly belong to a place. For a moment. To a blade of grass and a ray of sunshine. Just like when you realize that nothing happens by chance and that the details that normally escape the eye are so powerful and tangible that you can still feel the sounds and scents on your skin.
In black and white
We say it loud and clear: nothing does justice to an intense shoot like the one we are talking about like a printed catalog. Of course, there is a lot of work behind every page, consisting of research and attention to the smallest details. But the satisfaction of seeing the images we already loved on the monitor printed on the chosen paper is truly unmatched.
